Background
Italthai Engineering
Company Limited. (ITE), started from an alliance formed by
Dr. Chaiyudh Karnasuta, a Thai, and Mr. Georgio Berlingieri,
an Italtian, in April 1967 as Italthai Gas Service Co.,
Ltd. The purpose was to serve the market of LP-Gas trading
and service with beginning registration capital of 500,000
Baht. Then the company expanded and diversified to be an experienced
contractor specializing in major electrical and mechanical
works for industrial plants, highrise buildings, and large
power utilities (power plants and power substations) in the
name of Italthai Engineering Co., Ltd. (ITE) with registration
capital of 100 Million Baht. Therefore, ITE now is one of
the engineering contracting in Italthai Group in addition
to Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited, the biggest
construction company in Thailand majoring in civil work. At
present, the Italthai Group is managed by the only Thai partner,
Dr. Chaiyudh and members of Karnasuta family, as well as several
highly professional managers since Mr. Berlingieri passed
away in December 1981.
